Hypnotherapy
Clinical hypnotherapy is hypnosis used in a therapeutic manner by trained clinicians. It is performed in a calm, therapeutic environment. It also works well over a virtual zoom call. We will guide you into a relaxed, focused state and ask you to think about experiences and situations in positive ways that can help you change the way you think and behave. Research has shown it is helpful in stress, childbirth and to treat conditions associated with chronic pain, anxiety, phobias, smoking cessation, weight loss, and bad habits. It can be used to help improve sleep, learning disorders, test anxiety, sport performance, recovery from trauma irritable bowel syndrome, and more.
Hypnosis bypasses the conscious mind to reach the subconscious mind directly. Just simple conscious thought is not enough to reach the subconscious mind and make the changes that you would like.
Because hypnosis is a direct link to the subconscious mind, you can change limiting beliefs and establish healthier beliefs, thoughts and feelings.
Can you imagine the power to realize your potential? Can you imagine that you are living the life where your blocks to success are gone?
Hypnosis can be used for anything a person can imagine. Losing weight and quitting bad habits are the most commonly known requests.
People often want to know what it feels like to be hypnotized. Have you ever gotten lost in a good book? Hypnosis feels like that most of the time. You lose track of time. You become fully absorbed in the reality of the book. Most people find Hypnosis to be a wonderful experience.
When hypnotized, you do not black out nor are you unconscious. You hear everything very clearly.
Hypnosis can bring to mind images of sensationalized behavior such as speaking mindlessly or engaging in ridiculous behavior. The only time hypnosis looks like that is in stage hypnosis, where the hypnotist asks for volunteers out of the crowd. These are people who want to act like they do on stage. Clinical hypnosis is quite different. A hypnotherapist is there to help you with your issues and needs your cooperation with the process. If the hypnotherapist were to give you suggestions that you didn't agree with or were morally against your beliefs, you would either refuse them or you would stand right up and walk out of that session.
I’ve been asked if a person can be stuck in hypnosis. The answer is No. Can you get stuck in the reality of a book? The worst-case scenario is that you fall asleep and then wake up later. If you are thinking, what if I were to be hypnotized and something were to happen to the hypnotist and I were left alone, still hypnotized?. You would just snap right out of hypnosis whenever you were ready. When you are in a state of hypnosis, anything alarming or of importance would pop you right out of this state. There is absolutely no danger to you in a state of hypnosis.
Some people worry about what could happen when they are under hypnosis. We abide by the American Psychological Association’s code of ethics, which states it is unethical for us to control someone else. Because you are in control of your experience in hypnosis, no one can control your mind in hypnosis. You decide which suggestions you want to accept and which you don’t. Hypnosis is very much like guided meditation. You are in a more relaxed state than usual and often you are able to recall much of what you heard. Lastly, we provide you with a recording of the hypnotherapy session.
Energy psychology (EP) is a family of integrative approaches to psychotherapy, coaching, and healthcare treatment rooted in mind-body healing traditions that are up to 5,000 years old. EP methods blend the bio-energetic insights of these traditions with the best of contemporary psychological practice.
Energy psychology methods are more focused, goal oriented and active than conventional therapies. They work with the body’s energy systems (e.g. meridians, chakras) to create a change in your perception and experience.
Most non-energy psychotherapies engage only thought and emotion. However, energy psychology activates emotion, cognition, the physical body and energy system within a single session. This may be why energy psychology approaches appear to work more quickly than conventional psychotherapy. Some of these modalities include brainspotting, EFT Tapping, and trapped energy releases
Most EP approaches are gentle and do not require that you relive traumatic memories. In addition, you will often learn self-help methods you can use on your own. EP approaches can rapidly help people reduce strong painful emotions, process traumatic events, shift limiting beliefs and live with greater love.
